People in Motion
Vivian Phillips, Owner
"I will be eternally grateful to SELF and what it has done for
me."

Kim Babjak,
Kimco,
Inc.
Kim Babjak was destined to be an inventor;
It happened on one typical day as Kim was tending to her home and
accidentally found her
EUREKA
! Trying with all of her might to raise her
king size pillow-top mattress to change the bed skirt and realizing the
task was near to impossible, she called upon three of her neighbors for
help. The absurdity of the experience fueled her own inventiveness and in
next to no time, the first prototype of the Zip-A-Ruffle
was developed.
Kim registered for SELF’s ten-week workshop on writing a business plan.
Upon graduation, Kim took out a business start-up loan with SELF for
$1,000. With money in hand; SELF was the launching pad that catapulted Kim
Babjak with success she never dreamed possible. Today, Kim sells the Zip-A-Ruffle
once a week on the QVC network in the US, United Kingdom
,
Germany
and will soon be throughout
Europe
,
Australia
and
New Zealand
. Yes, Kim is on the millionaire’s track
and is a reminder to all SELF clients that “anything is possible” as
an entrepreneur, especially when given the right tools and support.

Tammy Kaatz
,
Adventure Boot camp
Tammy Kaatz starts her day at dawn, fully clad in fatigues, helmet and
polished boots as she meets her troops at the Dreamy Draw Mountain
Preserve in
Phoenix
. Thirty women await her arrival each day,
willing to do anything she brashly commands; no matter how strenuous and
exhaustive it may be, knowing full well that they will be better for it.
Tammy is not a military drill sergeant; she is however, the proud owner of
Adventure Boot Camp; a get-in-shape fast, guided exercise regiment for
women.
Tammy knew that her past corporate career in financial advising was not a
“life match”. One day an Adventure Boot Camp franchise was offered to
Tammy while working on her personal training certification, and with a
leap of faith she turned in her resignation and seized the opportunity.
She sought out SELF, completed the ten-week business plan workshop, and
was awarded a small business loan that she used to market her business at
a health expo. From the invaluable business knowledge Tammy gained through
SELF and the seed money to get started, Adventure Boot Camp is now high in
demand and Tammy is high on life!
