Borrowers' Circles

There are many avenues of lending that may be pursued.  The more traditional means of financing a business are banks, credit unions, family, friends, personal credit cards, second mortgages or other independent lending institutions.

SELF's objective is to put you in an environment that will support you in all areas of starting or expanding your business.  The Borrowers' Circles are designed to meet the needs of those who are not eligible for traditional lending. The Circles offer unleveraged financing for the purchase of small assets, inventory, advertising, and/or supplies.

For those borrowers who have access to traditional lending but choose to participate in the Borrowers' Circles, there are also benefits.  A few of the peripheral benefits of joining a Borrowers' Circle are continuous peer and technical support, networking, as well as brainstorming.

This process also positions you for larger loans from traditional and non-traditional lending institutions.  SELF can introduce you to organizations like Chicano’s Por La Causa, Arizona Multi-Bank, or SBA lenders.
The Circles prepare you for recording, projecting, and understanding the financial information critical to borrowing greater amounts of capital in the future.

Finally, participating in the Peer Lending Program can help to build or rebuild personal and business credit.  Your account history will periodically be reported to Credit Data Southwest.  This assists you in qualifying for other business credit.
